The Avery-Hardoll BM Series Flow Meter is a precision-engineered, positive displacement liquid measuring instrument designed to maintain high accuracy over extended periods of operation. Its simplicity in design and construction has led to its widespread use in aviation refueling vehicles, oil terminals, and as a master meter for calibration purposes.

  • Flow Rate Range: 25 gallons per minute (gpm) to 850 gpm (115 liters per minute [lpm] to 3,870 lpm).
  • Accuracy: Typically ±0.02% repeatability, ensuring precise measurement over time.
  • Construction Materials:
    • Manifold: Fabricated steel or ductile iron.
    • Body: Ni-Resist cast iron.
    • Vanes: Carbon.
    • Rotor: Aluminum or Ni-Resist cast iron.
    • Outer Covers: Aluminum or Ni-Resist cast iron.
    • Inner Covers: Ni-Resist cast iron.
    • Bearings: Stainless steel.
    • Seals: High nitrile or fluorocarbon.
  • Maximum Working Pressure: 10.5 bar (150 psi).
  • Test Pressure: 21 bar (300 psi).
  • Temperature Range: -28°C to 100°C
  • Volume per Revolution: 2.27 liters (single capsule), 4.54 liters (double capsule), 6.82 liters (triple capsule).

The BM Series Flow Meter operates on the positive displacement principle, where the product enters the meter and causes the rotor to revolve through pressure on the vanes. The proximity of the rotor to the body forms an efficient seal, guiding the vanes through the measuring crescent, where the volume of the product is accurately measured. An extension shaft transmits the rotor revolutions to a pulse transmitter or a mechanical register, facilitating precise measurement and monitoring.

  • Aviation Refueling Vehicles: Ensuring accurate fuel measurement during aircraft refueling operations.
  • Oil Terminals: Facilitating precise measurement of fuel during storage and transfer processes.
  • Calibration Master Meters: Serving as a reference standard for calibrating other flow meters.
