The Gorman-Rupp Series 80 is a heavy-duty, self-priming centrifugal pump designed for demanding industrial, agricultural, mining, construction, municipal, and petroleum fluid-handling applications.

  • Straight-In Suction Design:

    • The exclusive straight-in suction design of the 80 Series ensures quick, positive priming and allows for operation at higher suction levels than most self-priming centrifugal pumps. This results in improved efficiency and reliable operation.
  • Multiple Seal Options:

    • These pumps offer a range of seal options to suit different applications, including single and double seals, grease, oil, and self-lubricated designs.
    • Seal faces are available in materials like carbon/ni-resist, carbon/ceramic, sintered bronze/steel, silicon carbide, and tungsten carbide.
    • Elastomer options include fluorocarbon, Buna, and PTFE, giving flexibility for various fluid-handling needs.
  • High-Efficiency Impeller:

    • The multi-vane open impeller is designed for high efficiency and can handle solids up to 2 3/8″ (60 mm) depending on the model. This makes the pump ideal for handling mild solids in the fluid being pumped.
  • Replaceable Wearplate:

    • The wearplate is replaceable, reducing maintenance costs and providing continuous maximum efficiency. The pump's thick construction ensures longevity and reduces the need for costly castings.
  • Drive Variations:

    • The Series 80 pumps can be configured for various drive options:
      • Basic units that connect to a customer’s power source.
      • Flex-coupled, close-coupled, or V-belt driven by electric motors.
      • Gasoline or diesel engine-powered options are also available, providing flexibility depending on the application and location.
