To find the maximum meter flow rate in relation to the meter bearing material and product viscosity, use the chart below:

  • Calculate the percentage of rated capacity that the meter must function at;
  • Calculate the viscosity of the product at the operating temperature of the system.
  • Plot the intersection of the two lines on the chart.
  • Find the appropriate slope on the chart by identifying the meter-bearing material from the construction/application table above.

You are outside of the permitted pressure loss for the designated meter and bearing if the plotted point is higher than the bearing material slope. Either use a larger meter, lower the flow rate, or think about using other bearing materials.

  • Flow Rate (LPM):

    • 1703 LPM (Liters Per Minute) – The maximum flow capacity the meter can handle.
  • Pressure Rating:

    • 285 psi (19.7 bar, 1965 kPa) – The maximum operating pressure the meter can withstand.
  • Flange Size:

    • 3″ – Indicates the diameter of the flange connection for piping integration.
  • Construction Material:

    • Steel Case – Provides structural durability.
    • Aluminum Element – Internal components are made of aluminum, likely to ensure lightweight construction and corrosion resistance.
  • Seals:

    • Buna/Viton® – Specifies the types of seals available based on catalog number:
      • Buna: Suitable for petroleum-based fluids.
      • Viton®: Resistant to chemicals and higher temperatures.
  • Maximum Pressure:

    • 285 psi – Reiterates the highest pressure supported, depending on the specific catalog number configuration.
  • Temperature Range:

    • -40° to 185° F – Specifies the operational temperature range, suitable for extreme environments.
