The Scully ST-47 Groundhog is a vehicle static ground verification system designed for safe and reliable grounding during loading operations. It operates independently or in conjunction with Scully Overfill Prevention Systems (ST-35® or ST-15). With over 30 years of experience in liquid handling systems, Scully ensures dependable performance, service, and safety.

  • Suitable for various loading operations including tank trucks, rail tank cars, aircraft refuelers, and tanks.

  • Ensures proper grounding before and during loading to enhance safety.

  • Continuously monitors ground connection, halting operations if grounding is lost.

  • Stand-alone grounding available with a junction box and optional ground-proving plug or grounding clamp.

  • Integration capability with Scully Overfill Prevention Systems for combined overfill and static grounding protection.

  • Direct earthing tie-in point at loading rack for secure grounding.

  • Temperature Range: -40˚ to +140˚ F (-40˚ to +60˚ C).

  • Enclosure: Explosion-proof, weather-proof housing (suffix “E”).

  • Indicators:

    • Red: Not grounded/non-permit.

    • Green: Grounded/permit.

  • Response Time: 0.5 seconds maximum.

  • Electrical Connections: Internal terminal strips for simplified installation.

  • Bypass Switch: Key lockable off-on bypass switch (ELK model only).
