The Tuthill PD Plus is a premium line of high-pressure industrial blowers designed for superior performance and dependability. These blowers are available in heavy-duty models with gear diameters ranging from 3.25” to 12” and rotor lengths from 2.5” to 48”. Rated for pressures up to 18 PSI / 17" Hg vac, they are suitable for both air and gas applications.

Vertical & Horizontal Air Flow:

  • Ideal for pneumatic conveying, wastewater treatment, and general process industries requiring high-pressure, high-volume air.

  • Seal areas are vented to the atmosphere to relieve process pressure against internal lip seals, ensuring oil-free air.

2. Vertical & Horizontal Single Envelope Gas Service:

  • Suitable for closed-loop pneumatic conveying, process gas handling, and elevated pressure applications up to 100 PSIG discharge.

  • Vent openings are tapped and plugged to prevent gas leakage.

  • Fittings can accommodate an inert gas purge for positive containment of process gases.

3. Vertical & Horizontal Double Envelope Gas Service:

  • Built to laboratory standards for near-complete sealing.

Standard Construction Materials:

  • Housing, end plates, and end covers: Cast iron with port fittings.

  • Rotors and shafts: Ductile iron.

Special Materials Available:

  • Stainless steel.

  • Carbon steel.

  • Ductile iron models.

Special Testing:

  • ASME PTC-9 (1 PSIG slip method).

  • Hydrostatic testing to 150 PSIG (10.35 bar g).

  • Pressure gas testing to 100 PSIG (6.9 bar g).

  • Seal leakage testing.

  • Bi-Protec® available as a Nickel/Armoloy® special coating.

Optional Cooling Coils:

  • Available on all 5500 PD PLUS vertical flow models.

  • Cooling coils maintain lubricating oil temperature with less than 0.5 GPM cooling water, enabling high-performance applications.
